Britney Spears, 37, cancelou a segunda temporada de shows que faria em Las Vegas, nos Estados Unidos, e demais compromissos profissionais para ficar mais próxima da família. O pai da cantora, Jamie Spears, foi hospitalizado devido a um problema no intestino grosso e a recuperação requer cuidados.
“Eu não farei o meu novo show ‘Domination’. Esperava ansiosamente por esse show e vê-los neste ano, e fazer isso me quebra o coração. Mas, é importante sempre colocar a família em primeiro lugar. E essa é a decisão que tenho que tomar”, disse Britney, em seu perfil no Instagram, nesta sexta (4).
A cantora explicou que seu foi internado e quase morreu alguns meses atrás. “Estamos todos muito gratos por ele ter saído dessa vivo, mas ele ainda tem uma batalha pela frente. Eu tive que tomar essa difícil decisão de colocar todo o meu foco e energia na minha família neste momento.”
De acordo com o site americano TMZ, Jamie Spears ficou gravemente doente há dois meses, depois que seu cólon rompeu espontaneamente. Ele foi levado às pressas para um hospital em Las Vegas onde passou por uma cirurgia – ele ficou 28 dias internado.
Representantes da cantora disseram em um comunicado que Jamie Spears está agora em recuperação, em casa, e deve ficar inteiramente curado. O comunicado diz ainda que Britney Spears fará um intervalo por tempo indefinido do trabalho, suspendendo a temporada de “Britney: Domination”, que começaria no dia 13 de fevereiro e iria até agosto deste ano.
Jamie Spears, segundo a Reuters, é apontando como o responsável por renovar a carreira da filha, após Britney passar por uma fase negativa entre 2007 e 2008.
Ele também se tornou, após decisão judicial, o supervisor oficial dos negócios da cantora.
